Turning Stone Resort has agreed to extend the cut-off date for room reservations for NYHA’s 66th Annual Convention to MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2016. You still have time to secure a room in one of their three hotels at the discounted Association rate. Featured accommodations are: The Hotel at $143, The Tower at $163 or The Lodge at $285. All room rates are subject to Oneida Indian taxes and surcharges. The rate is good for October 12th through October 14th. To obtain the group rate at one of the hotel options, call the hotel directly at 800-771-7711 and state “NY Housing Association Convention.”
Joining with Turning Stone, we have decided to extend the Early Bird Registration fees for attending the Convention and/or Exhibiting in the Convention Trade Expo to MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2016. To better inform and serve all association members, there have been some changes to the Convention Program (see attached Schedule of Events). Expanding on the theme “Opportunities Ahead, Build on Them,” three other lenders have been added to Session A at 1:15pm. In addition to David Finney of 21st Mortgage, Rich D’Elia of First Credit Corp, Tim Nolan of MHD Empire Service Corp. and Brian Hines of Priority Funding will form a lenders panel to bring you the latest financing programs available to your customers. Michael Slocum, Greenberg Traurig, will repeat his session “New Employer Rules, Overtime, Paid Family Leave and More.” This first session is at 1:15 pm and the repeat session will be at 2:30 pm. To meet the requests of many community owners attending the convention, the Community Managers segment will extend into two sessions. Mark Glaser, Greenberg Traurig, will start Part I of the program at 1:15 pm and continue with Part II at 4:00 pm.
Retailers, manufacturers and suppliers will want to attend “Making the Most of Digital Marketing,” a very informative session by David Finney, 21st Mortgage at 4:00 pm. Learn how to sell more homes, learn how to utilize the internet, websites and social media to bring more customers in your door. Do not miss this session if you are in sales!
Bringing a guest with you to the Convention to enjoy all the activities at Turning Stone Resort? As in the past, all guests are invited to join us for meals. All we ask is that each guest purchase the individual meal tickets which are priced only to cover the costs of each meal. The Association makes no profit on meal tickets. Breakfast tickets are $24 each, luncheon tickets to hear Assembly Majority Leader Joe Morelle speak are $29 each, and the fabulous Awards Reception and Dinner tickets are $80 each. Tickets may be purchased the day of the event.
Do you need Continuing Education Credits to renew your NYS license? Bill Sherman is conducting a three hour Continuing Education Course on Friday, October 14th from 9:00 am until noon. The course fee is included with your Convention Registration fee. We only ask that you tell Association staff at the Convention registration desk on the 13th that you will be attending the CE class the next day.
Suppliers of goods and services to the industry will be spotlighted in the Trade Expo held during the Convention. Always a popular part of the conference, the Trade Expo brings attendees the latest in new technologies, products and services.
